Sign-in Methods
To access your Perusall account, there are several secure sign-in methods available. Below are the different options and steps for each method:
-
If your Perusall account is integrated with a Learning Management System (LMS) such as Canvas, Blackboard, or Moodle, sign in through your LMS portal. From your LMS course page, locate either a general Perusall link or Perusall assignment link, which will automatically authenticate your login and grant you access.
-
If you created your Perusall account with an email and password, enter these credentials on the login page and click Sign in.
- Your password must be a minimum length of 12 characters.
- The password must pass a complexity check (for instance, the letter "A" 12 times in a row, or a word from the dictionary will not pass the complexity check).
-
If you registered your Perusall account using Google, you can sign in quickly by clicking the Sign in with Google button on the login page. Ensure you're logged into the correct Google account on your device for seamless access.
When using the Google Sign-In method is is important to note that you cannot change the Google account associate with your Perusall account. If you create your account using the Google Sing-In method, you can then link this account to your LMS; however, this process does not work in reverse.
-
Perusall no longer supports Sign in with Twitter or Sign in with Facebook, but you can continue to access your Perusall account by adding a password. To do this:
- Go to the login page and click Forgot Password.
- Enter the email address associated with your Perusall account.
- Check your email (including your Spam/Junk folder) for an email from Perusall with a link you can use to add a password to your account.
Once you have set a password, you can log in using your email address and the password you have created. If you do not know the email address associated with your Perusall account, Contact Perusall support.
If your account is linked to your LMS (i.e. Canvas, Moodle, etc.), you must click on the Perusall links in your LMS course to access Perusall unless otherwise directed by your instructor. If directed to access Perusall through a different method, you can add a password to your LMS-integrated account.
Security Checkup
To help ensure the security of your Perusall account, the Security Checkup ensures that you always have full visibility into all methods of logging into your account. Perusall may periodically present this Security Checkup to you based on your account activity, and you can also activate the Security Checkup at any time by selecting it from your user menu:
Once you launch the Security Checkup, review the login methods presented, disconnect any you do not recognize, and then click OK to complete the checkup and close the dialog.
Keyboard users: The Esc key will not work to close this dialog; review the login methods and tab to the OK button and then press Enter to dismiss the dialog.
If you find yourself in an account with no records of your purchases, courses, etc., you are likely in a duplicate account. This may have been created by attempting to access an LMS linked account via the Google login methods. Contact Perusall support for further guidance.
