How do I manage my notifications? For students

  • Updated

To manage notifications for a course, navigate to the course from your Perusall home screen. Once inside, go to your profile icon in the top right corner of the screen and click Manage my notifications. Adjust your email notification settings as needed, and click at the bottom right to apply your updates.

Notification settings are applied immediately and automatically to all courses in your Perusall account. Below are the customizable settings, along with a brief explanation of each:

  • While I am working on an assignment, suggest possible actions that might help me get more out of the reading and improve my score. (See more about dynamic feedback).
    • Having this enabled will allow Perusall to generate helpful suggestions to you as you work through assignments.

The email notification settings below will automatically apply to each course in your Perusall account, and any changes you make here will take effect immediately.

  • Notify me when I am mentioned in a comment.
    • If you are mentioned in a comment with the “@,” you will be notified.
  • Notify me of updates to conversations I participate in.
  • Notify me when someone sends me a one-on-one message.
    • When you are engaged in a one-on-one conversation via the chat menu, you will be notified when you have a new message.
  • Notify me when an assignment that I haven't yet completed is about to be due.
  • Periodically send me tips about how to best use Perusall to succeed in my course.
  • Never send me any notifications.
    • This completely prevents all notifications from being sent to you.

To view notifications inside your course, click Inbox solid.svg Notifications on the left side bar.

Perusall notifications are not the same as notifications sent by your LMS. If you wish to receive/not receive emails in relation to Perusall assignments, please ensure you've edited both your Perusall notification settings AND your LMS notification settings.
